Violence Against Children
Protecting the Most Vulnerable. Holding Institutions Accountable.
Children depend on adults—and the institutions that serve them—to keep them safe. When schools, residential facilities, or other organizations betray that trust, the consequences can be devastating. At Qureshi Law, we represent children who have been physically or emotionally abused, neglected, or mistreated by those entrusted with their care.
Our firm has earned national recognition for its work protecting children from violence and abuse. We have taken on school districts, private facilities, and government agencies that failed to protect vulnerable students, exposing systemic cover-ups and holding wrongdoers accountable.
In 2022, Omar Qureshi won a $45 million jury verdict against Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District on behalf of two young students with autism who were physically and emotionally abused by a school employee. The District denied wrongdoing and concealed the abuse for months. The Los Angeles jury disagreed. The verdict—one of the largest in the country that year—was a landmark victory for children’s safety and accountability in public education.
Qureshi Law has also secured major settlements for children and families affected by institutional neglect and violence, including:
$1,250,000+ settlement for a child who suffered a traumatic brain injury at a residential care facility.
$51,000,000+ in total recoveries for victims of child abuse, including cases in schools, residential programs, and medical offices.
Our attorneys are experienced in handling the unique challenges of child abuse and neglect cases. We work closely with families to uncover the truth, build strong evidence, and ensure that those responsible for harming children—whether individuals or institutions—are held publicly accountable.
