Police Brutality and Misconduct
Standing Up to Power. Demanding Justice for Victims of Abuse.
Police officers and correctional officers have immense power over the people they serve. When that power is abused, the results are often catastrophic. Qureshi Law represents victims of police brutality, excessive force, wrongful arrest, and other forms of official misconduct across the country.
Our attorneys have taken on police departments, jails, and private correctional companies that violated the constitutional rights of the people in their custody. We bring these cases not only to secure justice for our clients, but to expose systemic abuse and push for reform.
In 2025, Omar Qureshi and Max Schoening won a record-breaking $42.75 million federal jury verdict on behalf of the family of Erie Moore, Sr., who died after being brutally abused by guards at a private jail in Louisiana. The verdict—the largest ever against a private correctional company in U.S. history and the largest civil rights verdict in Louisiana history—sent a powerful message: those who profit from incarceration cannot disregard human life or dignity.
Qureshi Law has also represented victims of excessive force, false arrest, and wrongful death by police and correctional officers. We handle cases involving shootings, beatings, denial of medical care, and other forms of abuse and neglect in custody.
Every case we take is about more than money—it’s about truth, accountability, and ensuring that no one else suffers the same injustice.

Our Commitment to Accountability
At Qureshi Law, we believe that justice must apply equally to those who enforce the law. We investigate every case thoroughly—reviewing body camera footage, jail records, witness statements, and expert evidence—to uncover the full truth.
Our work has helped families find answers in the face of silence, hold powerful institutions accountable, and expose the hidden systems that enable abuse. We approach every case with compassion for victims and their families, and with relentless determination to create change.
