Omar Qureshi
Trial Lawyer
Biography
Omar is one of the most accomplished young lawyers in the country.
Within five years of founding Qureshi Law, Omar has won over $100 million in verdicts and settlements for his clients. In 2025, he and his Qureshi Law colleague Max Schoening won a record-breaking $42.75 million federal jury verdict on behalf of the family of Erie Moore, Sr., who died after being brutally abused in a private jail in Louisiana. The verdict is the largest ever against a private correctional company in U.S. history and the largest civil rights verdict in Louisiana history.
Omar recently served as lead trial attorney in a case in which he won a $45 million civil rights jury verdict on behalf of two young students with autism who were abused by a school employee. The jury found that the employee targeted the boys because of their disabilities.
Omar has represented the families of people wrongfully killed; children who were physically and emotionally abused by school district employees; people wrongfully terminated from their jobs because of their sex, race, and religion; and individuals catastrophically injured by negligent corporations, government employees, and individuals.
In 2020, Omar won two trials representing special needs students who were physically attacked by school employees. In 2022 and 2024, he won appeals before the California Court of Appeal protecting people’s rights to access trial courts rather than be bound by arbitration clauses.
Previously, Omar worked at Bridgewater Associates, the world’s largest hedge fund, and at Jenner & Block, where he represented companies in class action and antitrust lawsuits and nationwide multi-district litigation.
Omar was also an award-winning comedian and storyteller. He toured nationally performing stand-up comedy and won The Moth GrandSlam Championship, the top storytelling award from the leading storytelling organization in the country. His work was featured on NPR and at the Sundance Film Festival.
He is originally from Monett, Missouri, and spends as much time there as he can. Omar is licensed in California and Missouri.
